Need a
fresh start?
What should I
focus on?
360 degree goal setting is a powerful, holistic process that sets you up for success.
It takes into consideration both your career goals and your life goals.
Extended periods of imbalance
can lead to insane days
and reduced productivity,
not to mention broken relationships.
.
The truth is that if you are only taking care of corporate matters and neglecting your personal life, you will not be able to show up effectively and perform efficiently.
Your mental bandwidth will be greatly reduced.

Here are your
8 Life Areas
1. Review
Review each of your 8 Life Areas
– – – – – – – –
You may substitute the titles to align with your focus for the year
– – – – – – – –
As you reflect on each, give yourself a current score
for how happy you are in each Life Area
(1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest)
PS. There are no right or wrong scores. It is, what it is – for now
2. The Target
Review each of your 8 Life Areas again
– – – – – – – –
This time, ask yourself, what do you want to aim for?
– – – – – – – –
As you reflect on each, give yourself a target score
for how happy you want to be in each Life Area
(1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest)
PS. Dream with possibilities, like a child. For now, don’t ask “How?”
3. Write
Write down your scores and then spend a few minutes reflecting
– – – – – – – –
Set 3 to 5 goals
in each Life Area.
Recognise where you may need to invest more time.
See where you can cut back or where you are being too hard on yourself.
– – – – – – – –
You don’t have to be at a 10 in every or any area of your life
– – – – – – – –
If there’s a Life Area that you feel needs urgent attention, zoom in and spend time unpacking the issues. Brainstorm what’s possible and articulate clearly what you can do, and whose support you may need.
PS. Goals are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound (SMART Goals).
4. Focus
A wise man once said that you can’t do everything all at once, but you can do one thing first and then the next.
– – – – – – – –
It is now time to embark on the journey of discerning how to focus on your first moves. Even the grandest game of chess begins by moving a single piece, doesn’t it?
Review the 8 Life Areas above and ask yourself:
“In which Life Area would I achieve the greatest outcomes, in the shortest time?”
“Which single Life Area improvement would have the largest, positive spillover effect on other Life Areas?”
“Which of these goals, if not touched by December this year, won’t really matter to me?”
“By this time next year, how do I want to have grown; what do I want to have seriously achieved?”
“How am I feeling now; and how do I want to feel in six months’ time?”
PS. “Quality questions create a quality life.” Anthony Robbins
